'To the End of Everest'
Exciting live documentary of the ascent to the roof of the world by Davide Chiesa, who will present the evening.
Davide Chiesa climbs the highest mountain in the world, Everest (8848 m), and manages, despite the extremely difficult weather conditions, to film and comment on his ascent. Originally from Piacenza and a great lover of photography and video making, through his sincere and emotional documentary he will tell us in person about his two-month expedition, amidst second thoughts, determination, joy and fears.
A mountaineer since 1991, Davide Chiesa has hundreds of high-altitude and ice climbs to his credit. From new winter openings at altitude to modern extreme routes, without neglecting hiking, winter mountaineering and ski mountaineering, and teaching. Normal routes, north faces, waterfalls and some solo and new routes.
His recent test on Everest with the summit he reached on 20 May 2017 from Nepal via the historic south ridge (route of the first climbers), managing, despite the extremely cold temperatures, to film and comment on his ascent. Davide Chiesa thus made a documentary film, demonstrating an 'extreme' passion for this type of documentary creativity. The title of the film-documentary is "To the End of Everest" and tells the story of the long ascent to the Roof of the World by a mountaineer from the plains and "non-professional"; the film was a great success with the public, reaching the finals at several mountain film festivals.
Film duration 52 minutes.
