Kneipp Path, the benefits of the cold and warm water can be found in Trentino too!
You aren't in a Spa center if there isn't a Kneipp path. This circuit is based on hydrotherapy, thanks to the healing power of the water of the Dolomites your body will benefit from the start from a unique well being. This path is made of two pools, with cobbles on the bottom, where the alternation between cold and warm water allows your blood circulation and nervous system to achieve benefits.
The water goes from the ankles, maximum up to the knees. The warmth stimulates and calms down the body, and slows down the activity of the internal ogans. The cold, on the contrary, stimulates and invigorates the body, and increases the internal activity. The alternation between cold and warmth reduces stress and stimulates the body and the mind. It's important to know that immersions in the cold water should last less than the ones in the warm water. Those in the cold water should always be done after pre-warming your body.
Sebastian Kneipp studied the therapeutic properties of the water, and then started applying them on himself and cured himself of tubercolosis thanks to his daily immersions in the Danube.
Recommended path:3 rotations of the pools in a row, then staying for 9 minutes in the pool with warm water, and 3 minutes in the cold one. Then staying for 3 minutes in the pool with warm water and 1 minute in the cold one. |
